Intel Prepares "Raptor Lake Next" Desktop Processors for LGA1700 Platform
With the 13th Gen Core "Raptor Lake" microarchitecture already refreshed as the 14th Gen Core "Raptor Lake Refresh," Intel is now moving forward with a new line of desktop processors under the codename "Raptor Lake Next." These upcoming CPUs are designed specifically for the Socket LGA1700 platform and address a key market need: continued support for DDR4 memory.
The ongoing DDR5 memory pricing challenges have left many PC builders and upgraders seeking affordable alternatives. Since the latest Core Ultra "Arrow Lake" processors have dropped DDR4 compatibility, "Raptor Lake Next" aims to fill this gap by offering new options for users who rely on the widely available DDR4 standard.
